Strongpoint WN70 at Hamel-au-Prêtre

[ WN meant "Widerstandnester" or "nid of resistance" ]

The WN 70, above the "Hardelay" villa, was still under construction and appears to be unoccupied. Completed, it could have received 2 75mm guns, including 1 concrete casemate, and a 20mm anti-aircraft gun in concrete encumbrance.

The question of whether a 75mm gun was in place on June 6 remains. I don't have any pictures of this hypothetical cannon. Nor do I have any testimony from the GIs who passed through early on 6 June and neutralised the strongpoint.
