On June 7, the 6th Special Engineering Brigade, responsible for operating the bridgehead in the Vierville - St-Laurent area, installed its PC at the foot of the St-Laurent descent.

It was the 147th Battalion of the Beach Engineers that was specifically responsible for operations on the beaches of Vierville: Charlie, Dog Green and Dog White. Subsequently, after the storm and the destruction of the "Mulberry", the 11th Port resumed the beach operations on Charlie and the west of Dog Green, until its departure on 26 July.

The work of removing beach obstacles, which began in the first hour on June 6, continued at each low tide. In view of the accumulated delays, the work was only completed, with the participation of the 146th Engineer Battalion (SETF), on the evening of 7 June.

All other works were also very late. The enemy artillery continued to be harassed, and the snipers along the cliffs were not dislodged for two or three days. The engineer lacked equipment, was hampered by wrecks and congestion, and he had to improvise new methods to solve the complex problems of unloading and moving the men and equipment disembarked.

The carefully prepared lists of priorities for unloading have been completely upset by difficulties in transmitting information on the arrival and loading of ships.

Since most of the zone planned for the bridgehead depots (which extended several kilometres inside) was still maintained by the Germans, temporary supply depots were installed on the beach and in neighbouring fields.

Nevertheless, the most urgent equipment (especially artillery and ammunition) was disembarked in sufficient quantities for immediate needs.

See below. testimony of an Officer on the LST 133 which landed on Vierville, just between the wrecks of LCI 91 and 92

Throughout the first few days, the priority of unloading was given to munitions, whose situation was serious until 10 June. On 8 June alone, ammunition began to disembark other than on pre-loaded "barriers".
The rations and gasoline reserves, which had been provided to the assault units, had helped to overcome the first critical moments. Each unit had brought rations for five days and additional fuel supplies to each vehicle.

As early as 7 June, the American specialized stewardship services (a section of the "606th QM Graves Registration Unit") began to gather the bodies of the killed soldiers. There were hundreds of them on the only beach in Vierville and there were also Germans.
One First cemetery Although the cliff was not yet cleared or cleared, it was decided to install the first cemetery at the foot of the Vierville cliff for the entire Omaha Beach. He was in the vicinity of the villa Philippe Marchal.

Finally, a lot of work was done to recover abandoned material on the beach on June 6.
